'MILF': The engineer warned Denise that the job could take longer than expected because "he couldn't keep his eyes off her"

Sunday Mirror

A WOMAN was sexually harassed in her home by a TV engineer... then offered money-off vouchers and half-price broadband when she complained to Virgin Media.

Just seconds after Denise Donnelly opened the door to the technician he called her a "MILF" – a crude porn term meaning Mother I'd Like to F***.

He warned the job could take longer than expected because "he couldn't keep his eyes off her".

Later he rang to say he wanted to "smash" (have sex with) her.

Denise complained about the engineer, who was working for a Virgin sub-contractor, and he resigned when challenged. But she says the firm's reaction left her even more humiliated.

"It is bad enough being sexually harassed," she said. "But to then be offered a cut-price internet package to try to brush the whole thing under the carpet is even more insulting."

The worker from utility firm McNicholas came to her flat to set up a new set-top box with a Virgin logo on his van and his clothes.

"As soon as he arrived he said it made a change to have the door opened by a beautiful woman," said Denise, 44.

"Then in the bedroom, where I wanted the box, he told me I was really sexy. I told him to stop and said 'For goodness sake I am a grandmother to a six-year-old'," said mum-of-two Denise. "But quick as a flash he said, 'Good, that makes you a MILF'."

Denise, from Farnborough, Hants, locked the door when he left and rang her partner in tears. But 10 minutes later the man, in his mid-20s, rang her mobile. "He said, 'I really want to come back and 'smash' you," she said.

Saleswoman Denise and partner Mark Knock, 40, complained to the police and Virgin Media. But cops said they could do nothing because she had invited him in.

Now she does not feel safe at home, has trouble sleeping and is on anti-depressants.

Virgin Media boss Neil Berkett told them in an email: "This is absolutely unacceptable and abhorrent behaviour... I apologise."

But the cut-price offer left Denise and Mark furious. Mark said: "This yob came into my home and said these revolting things. His behaviour was disgusting yet Virgin seem to think they can hide behind his resignation and a few vouchers will make everything OK.

"Denise is terrified. This man probably lives locally and he is out there somewhere."

The couple are considering legal action against the man, who has not been named.

"This has devastated me," said Denise.

Virgin Media said: "The technician was immediately removed from duty and no longer works for Virgin Media or its contract partner. We are incredibly sorry for the distress caused by this incident."
